Coconut Grove Children’s Mosaic Mural
DPA is proud to be associated with the Coconut Grove Children’s Mosaic Mural at the US post Office on Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove.  DPA prepared the maintenance of traffic plans for the installation of the panels.  This work was done pro bono as part of DPAs continuing effort to help enhance our South Florida community.  The Mosaic Mural community project, which initially started as a way to combat graffiti, took more than two years to complete and involved more than 80 area children, whose drawings and paintings inspired the marine-themed mosaic mural, and the dedicated team of local artists, who along with more than 100 local volunteers, spent hundreds of hours constructing the mural panels.

Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE)
DPA has been actively involved in the operations of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. The Southwest Chapter represents the local presence of ITE, which is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. Over the years, several DPA employees have volunteered and successfully served as Chapter board members in the positions of President, Vice-President, General Secretary and Treasurer. Currently, Mr. Dan Logsdon and Mr. Suresh Karre serve as the President and General Secretary of the Chapter, respectively.

Habitat for Humanity
DPA has a history of providing community service through Habitat for Humanity, which is a Christian ministry that transforms lives and communities by providing low-income families with affordable home ownership opportunities.  DPA employees have completed numerous Team Builds for Habitat for Humanity, which have been an inspirational day of construction at one of the build sites.  Mr. Tim Plummer is a former board member of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami.

Corporate Run
Since 1993, DPA has been a regular participant in the Corporate Run. This five kilometer event is held in Downtown Miami every year. It is yet another way in which the DPA team has fun and stays healthy while at the same time helping a charitable organization. The Corporate Run benefits the Leukemia Society of America.

FIU Connection
DPA has an ongoing association with the Civil Engineering Department of the Florida International University and the William Lehman Transportation Research Center. DPA and FIU complement each other by interchanging expertise and working cooperatively on issues of mutual interest. For example, FIU provides a constant source of employee candidates while DPA provides speakers for presentations and lectures on current transportation topics. These presentations provide a practical dimension to undergraduate / graduate students, faculty, and members of the FIU student chapter of The Institute of Transportation Engineers.
