Conchita Espinosa Academy
September 27, 2011 · Campus PlanningConchita Espinosa Academy (CEA) is a K through 8th grade, private school, located on SW 6 Street in unincorporated Miami-Dade County. CEA was planning to increase the maximum number of students to 700 within its existing campus and retained DPA to conduct the necessary traffic studies required by Miami-Dade County.
Intersection operations were assessed for the adjacent intersections of SW 132 Avenue / SW 6 Street and SW 127 Avenue / SW 6 Street. In addition, all project driveway operations were evaluated. The analysis showed that during the AM peak hour, the Miami-Dade County level of service standards were met with minor signal timing adjustments at the adjacent intersections.
A parking and queuing accumulation assessment was also conducted during the arrival and dismissal times, consistent with the Miami-Dade County Public Works guidelines. The results of the assessment showed that the proposed site plan provided sufficient parking and queuing within the school to accommodate the pick-up vehicles associated with the expansion of the CEA.
