The city of Florida City recognized the need for an indoor youth activity center to better serve the neighborhood youth. Through grant funding, Florida City was able to build a 21,500 square foot building, which included a gymnasium, weight room, bathrooms, and staff offices. DPA designed the new on-site drainage system; the water and sewer connection; an additional fire hydrant extension on the adjacent street; on-site layout of the building; paving and grading of the at-grade parking lot; sidewalk paths; and the regulatory signing and pavement markings for the facility.
