Over the past 12 years, a number of studies have been conducted and plans developed to implement park-and-ride facilities along enhanced bus and express transit lines within Miami-Dade County.  These studies have been prepared by various jurisdictions and agencies, such as Miami-Dade Transit (MDT), the FDOT, Tri-Rail, and some cities. However, a comprehensive, up-to-date plan did not exist.  Therefore, the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) retained the services of DPA to prepare a consolidated park-and-ride facilities plan.  The plan reflects existing and planned facilities and potential new locations that are responsive to current and future needs and responds to recent changes to the existing transit system, as well as current short and medium term transit plans and needs.
