The Miromar International Design Center, located on Corkscrew Road in Estero, is a centralized campus of interior design display space and showrooms.  The first phase, 250,000 square feet of an eventual 400,000 square feet, is currently open.

DPA assisted the design center during the regional and local approval process.  DPA’s services included the preparation of the traffic studies in support of those approvals.  One issue that was addressed during the planning and approval process was the appropriate amount of parking and the proper parking rate to be provided on-site.  DPA prepared a parking study to establish the amount and parking rate for the Design Center.  That parking study included a national literature research of other comparable sites; field visit and survey of a comparable design center on the east coast of Florida; and a review of other communities’ parking regulations.  The study resulted in the establishment of the appropriate amount of parking for Phase 1 of the design center and conditions for monitoring the parking supply to verify the proper amount of parking for the next phase of development.
