Southwest Florida International Airport

The Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), in the growing Southwest Florida area, recognized the need for a major renovation to its Southwest Florida International Airport patron and employee parking lots, in addition to its then current terminal roadway system.  LCPA hired DPA to prepare design documents for these improvements, which included a new 500-space parking lot, modification of the existing parking lots, widening of the then terminal frontage roads and connector service roads.

One of the many elements that LCPA and DPA were very concerned with was the safety and convenience of the parking patrons during this renovation.  This condition required that the contract documents include construction phases, special temporary walkway details, and custom temporary signage, as well as close construction management during the construction phase for any needed adjustments.
