Ponce de Leon Median Improvements
October 27, 2011 · Final DesignDPA has worked with the city of Coral Gables Public Works Department for many years. One of DPA’s recent projects for the city was the Ponce de Leon Boulevard Median project, which included street improvements to enhance pedestrian movement, safety, traffic flow, and drainage. This project was a 1.2 mile roadway section of Ponce de Leon Boulevard from Almeria Avenue to SW 8 Street in the central business district of Coral Gables. The project included a landscaped median, trolley stops with sidewalk bulb-outs, milling and resurfacing, left-turn lanes, signalization modifications, pedestrian ramps, drainage improvements, crosswalk enhancements, on-street parking stalls, and traffic control plans.
DPA prepared the roadway, drainage, signage and pavement marking, traffic control, and signalization design plans, along with the specifications, bid services and post design services for this complex, urban project.
