Under the Safe Routes to Park Study, DPA was charged with preparing pedestrian safety plans for selected Miami-Dade County parks and developing a toolbox of pedestrian safety countermeasures to guide pedestrian safety improvements at other county parks.  The study also included the identification of parks with pedestrian safety problems or roadway barriers to pedestrian access; recommendations in the areas of short and long-term engineering, education, enforcement, encouragement and evaluation measures; and detailed maps of pedestrian activity, including flows, major activity generators, and transit access and transfer locations.
