DPA was the site civil engineers for the new West Kendall Baptist Hospital, which opened for patient care in April, 2011. The hospital represents the first completely new, non-replacement hospital built in Miami in more than 35 years.

DPA was responsible for the site civil design and construction administration for this project.  The hospital is located on a 30-acre parcel at the Kendall Town Center in Miami-Dade County.  The new four-story, 282,000 square foot facility currently accommodates 133 licensed beds and private patient rooms, and has been designed for expansion to 300 beds.  The campus also includes a freestanding, four-story, 63,000 square foot medical arts building for physician offices. This project was LEED Certified by the US Green Building Council.  Some of the LEED items that DPA designed included an electric vehicle charging station, irrigation water from the on-site lake, and use of recycled construction materials.
